If you’re ever in Valdosta, Georgia, you definitely need to stop by Sam’s Carry Out BBQ. I had the pulled pork, skins, barbecue sauce, and both regular lemonade and blueberry lemonade—and everything was a 10 out of 10. The pulled pork was absolutely magnificent—tender, flavorful, and cooked just right. The sides and drinks were just as good, especially the blueberry lemonade, which really stood out. On top of the food, the customer service was excellent. The owner, Sam, provides some of the best customer service, and everyone inside was polite, friendly, and welcoming. Overall, everything was super delicious. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for great BBQ in the area Meika from Palm Beach, Florida
It’s five stars just for the ribs alone. Easily the best I’ve ever had. Keep reading for more thoughts. We went by there coming back from Florida on our way back to middle Georgia. We were offered samples and so we tried the ribs and sausage (they were out of chicken). We actually ordered the pulled pork plate. My honest thought is that the pulled pork was a bit over sauced for me, but that’s a personal preference. For others, it’s probably just right. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful. My wife said the potatoes salad and baked beans were phenomenal. I’m sure their Mac and cheese is fantastic, but we came by so late on Friday that I know we were getting what was left of that, so I can’t judge them on it. We took a slab of ribs home for my mom and stepfather because he’s a ribs connoisseur. He was blown away. We also bought a jar of the mustard sauce to take home (it’s the superior sauce, IMO, but again, your mileage may vary. Just don’t second guess yourself. Go in there, sample what you want to try, and judge for yourself. But this place is absolutely fantastic. We’ll be stopping by every time we’re passing through Valdosta. It’s worth it.
After many years of living and being around Valdosta I've always drove by this spot and finally decided to give it a try. I called to see what they offered I was expecting a simple rib plate, However what I received was a very heavy plate of delicious ribs and sides. Definitely the best BBQ spot in Valdosta. The trophy's do not lie.
Absolutely Amazing Food. The smell alone is worth the trip and the food is just like Grandma and Grandpa used to cook. 10 out of 10 Don’t miss out.
We catered Sam’s BBQ for my father’s repast. We ordered a full meal with three meats, several sides, cornbread muffins, drinks, etc. to serve 80+ people. The meal was incredible, everyone raved about delicious everything tasted. The delivery was on time and Sam’s team did a great job setting up the food on serving tables with sternos to keep the food warm. I will gladly cater my next meal with Sam’s and recommend you check them out.
This was our first time at Sam’s Carry Out BBQ. We were driving from Florida to NC and stopped here because of the reviews because I love BBQ. They didn’t disappoint and when they found out it was our first time they gave us a sample of everything. My SIL and I couldn’t finish the samples between the two of us. It was all delicious, especially the pulled pork, the sauce (which we bought jars of to take home), pork skins, and the baked beans were my favorite. We ordered two sandwiches to go and the portions were so massive I was so glad I had brought a Tupperware container because we filled it to the rim and we are still eating leftovers three days later. I highly recommend visiting, not only was the food good but everyone was so incredibly nice. Thank you. 😊
Just delicious food! We had tender, fall off the bones ribs, baked beans and coleslaw. We picked up our carry out and took it a few miles up the road to the Florida state line Welcome Center and made a nice picnic.
I’m from Brazil, and my friend is from Argentina. We love to brag about our steaks and churrasco. We found this location for an American BBQ when visiting Valdosta. And the experience was fantastic! There were great people and an excellent BBQ. We loved everything we tried. Ribs out of this world. They gave us some sausage and beans to try, and it was just as good as everything else. In summary, American BBQ like this one at Sam is a staple to the culture and must be passed on from generation to generation.
